737 and Counting
A few days ago I posted an article from the CBC relating to the recent increase in Americans emigrating to
What's the problem with this? We get rid of our nut jobs and Canada gets more people to tax for their socialistic outlook. A marriage made in heaven!
Good riddance to the "Liberal" freaks. Our ancestors ran the tories(big all powerful govt. worshippers) into canada and back to Britain. We need to do the same.
I don't think the USA is going to miss one more labor organizer and his boyfriend with AIDS, that expects free healthcare for his stepfather with diabetes. He will just be replaced by a couple of illegal immigrants that keep America's productivity #1 in the world.
Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!! See ya!
Fine with me! Give us more leg room to stretch our legs out in this country of America! Proud to be an American!
HA HA HA!!! Canada gets to inherit two more peter puffing liberals and USA just got rid of 2 aids spreaders! You can have them!
Honestly, glad to see liberals congregating in Canada. The less I have to deal with idiots, the better. Any chance we could deport a few, make room for people who deserve an opportunity at a good life?
Why dont all you liberals go...you fit right in with the draft dodging cowards from Vietnam..Go smoke your legalized pot and badmouth the US..We dont want you back..Nothing more than a traitor
Gods, the hate and vileness of these people disgusts me, and I think more then anything else I am saddened about the perception they have about

This quote is priceless:

This fellow certainly thinks he's done his homework -- many of those "big all powerful govt. worshippers", the "tories", were indeed sent back to Britain or up to Canada, along with the Whigs, Liberals, and persons of any other political stripe who wanted to stay loyal to Britain.
Apparently, though, he is not aware that "tories" is the nickname for Conservatives, not Liberals. And if he's saying that Conservatives worship big government, then he has only to look at his own government to see that that's very true.
What's heartening to me is that it's unlikely these people will follow you guys up here. More Nick and Masons, less knuckle draggers. Suits me just fine.

Pretty sad stuff in those comments, huh, Niko?
Lucky that you and Mason beat the rush north!

I tried to open those comments yesterday and couldn't. Thanks for providing enough of them to even more solidify our decision to get the hell outta here.
The US is full of these insane, under educated, rabid nationalists.

the points of view expressed by those comments are exactly why I'm applying for PR from the US. I do not want to live in the country that those people call home.

People an be incredibly stupid and ignorant.
It's like those who accuse immigrants to come for social benefits (unemployment etc.). Yeah, right. People spend two years writing an immigration application, take medical tests, pay 1500$, quit their jobs, move miles away from their families and friends just to get a monthly 520$ cheque from the Canadian government ? Give me a break !

it never ceases to amaze.
Nick and Mason, I randomly came across your blog here and have been reading bits and pieces of your immigration story for the last little while. As a Canadian (born and raised), it was very touching to read of your journey and very eye-opening to read of your appreciation of the Canadian way of life. There is so much we take for granted here in Toronto!
All the best for the years to come!
