Welcome to Canada
We got a letter from Seattle in the mail today, and I immediately dropped everything and drove over to Mason's job. I walked into his office and we opened the manila envelope together...
This concerns your application for permanent residence in Canada. The processing of your application is complete. We require valid passports for you and your spouse before we can issue your permanent residence visa(s)...
We're in, and I'm speechless.

AWESOME!
Welcome to Canada. With all my heart. I'm so happy for you.
Don't forget that I've reserved a place at the housewarming! And if there's anything I can do -- especially if there's any information gathering I can do and pass on -- please let me know.
I've been waiting for this for a while, too -- I can't tell you how much I've hoped to see this post! I know it's far, far more important for you guys, but I can feel a little happiness-by-association I hope!
Congratulations. Welcome. Best wishes.

Great news. Now you are on your way and no more anxious moments (I hope). A new start, a new life and one that I hope will bring both of you a lot of happiness. Will you still be blogging in your new digs? Hope so. I am sure all your interested readers will want to know how you are adapting, etc. Good Luck...bon fete.

That's fantastic! You won't believe it, but I was by your site yesterday looking to see if there was any good news. It must have been going on while I was reading. Congratulations! I know it didn't come a moment too soon, what with selling the house and all.
Your post reminded me of a song. I had to go looking for the lyrics. One to grow on, fellahs... Canada Is by Roger Whittaker:
Canada is the Rocky Mountains
Canada is Prince Edward Island
Canada is a country made for love
Canada is La Belle Provence
Canada is the Yukon miner
Canada is a country full of love
We have love for our neighbour
For whatever creed or colour
We have love for our cities
And our valleys and our plains
We have a voice that is calling
Telling all the world we're willing
To welcome them to this great land
For that's what Canada is
(chorus)
Canada is a country full of faith
We have faith in our future
We're ready for tomorrow
We have faith in our children
For our future's in their hands
We have a voice that is calling
Telling us to keep on hoping
For time will make this wild land great
And that's what Canada is
(chorus)
Canada is a country loving peace
We have peace in our valleys
We're happy and contented
We have peace in our cities
And our boundaries have no chains
We have a voice that is calling
Telling all free men we're willing
To show them how to live in peace
For that's what Canada is
(chorus repeats twice)

What great news for you two!! The long tials and tribulations have been worth it, haven't they?? "drf" and I are here in Vancouver and just met with an accountant, re: tax advice/info/changes on the US vs. Canadian systems in preparation for us one day receiving the same letter you just got . . . . "Patience is a virtue" they say, but it will be hard to wait it out. Congratulations, Bon Voyage, and please keep all of us updated on the transition progress. We want to hear about all of it!!
